Tom Frye
At his small family home in rural Indiana, you might find musician Tom Frye toiling in his vegetable garden or teaching guitar to his kids. But carving out new songs and performing concerts has become his passion during the hours in between.
In addition to leading music within his local church, this prolific singer/songwriter has released four albums to date including 2006\'s Hope Is Alive, produced by Michael Aukofer, featuring Mitch McVicker (Rich Mullins) and legendary guitarist Phil Keaggy. Frye\'s newest project, the aptly named Songs of a Wilderness Traveler, reveals a dramatic period of change in his life.
\"This album was written about the un-planning of my life and the resulting freedom found through a deeper level of intimacy with God,\" Frye explains. \"It happened when I let go of my fears and stopped trying to protect my heart. Instead of working so hard to earn God\'s unconditional love, I learned how to accept it.\"
Co-produced by Aukofer and Nashville songwriter Jeremy Casella, and featuring Andrew Osenga (Caedmon\'s Call), and drummer Ken Lewis (Amy Grant, Emmylou Harris), Songs of a Wilderness Traveler effectively places times of struggle and loneliness alongside magnificent views of God\'s glory. \"Run to You\" chronicles a journey along a hardened stretch of desert that leaves behind a trail of doubt, while the violin-laden worship anthem, \"Lord of Peace\", comforts and quiets with reminders of grace.
Frye has unveiled his blend of worship/folk/rock in countless churches, various coffeehouses, even for kids at a juvenile correctional facility. Joining him on stage are longtime band mate, Todd Fiechter, as well as Frye\'s three children, Kaylyn, Maggie and Jonathon, who contribute on various instruments.
Since its April 2009 release, Songs of a Wilderness Traveler has received critical praise from numerous media outlets, as well as adds on several radio stations with its first single, \"Rain Down\".

Here\'s what people are saying about Tom\'s music;
\"I have had the privilege of sharing the stage with Tom Frye and his family and I was taken with his talent for writing and singing. He has such a wonderful heart for God and family and it comes through in his concerts. If you see him once you will always want to go back again.\"
-Jimmy Fortune – Singer/Songwriter – Formerly of the Statler Brothers
It was great listening to Tom\'s music - the nice melodies, the insightful lyrics, and the simple, folky production. But after getting a chance to sit down with him for a while and hear his heart, what really spoke to me was his passion for ministry. And it is awesome to see his passion produce a drive to be out there in front of people, and to be real and down to earth, and to really be able to share what\'s on his heart. I recommend listening to his music, but most of all, I recommend hearing his heart.
-Brian Smith – Bassist of the Multiple Dove Award winning band FFH
\"Tom performs from the heart. He gives his all to his listeners in hopes that he, and in turn, they, can glorify God. He is an authentic songsmith chasing after Jesus.\"
-Mitch McVicker - Christian Recording Artist/Dove Award Winning Songwriter
\"Tom is the real deal; genuine, authentic and his songs are an indication of the great heart that he has for the Lord. We are honored to partner with Tom in ministry; he is a blessing and encouragement to his audiences.\"
-Jenny Lockwald - Senior Director, World Vision Artist Associates Program
Tom\'s original compositions are thought provoking and grab your attention -- both for the quirky word rhythms and the spiritually thought-provoking concepts he introduces. Couched in an entertaining format that draws even the casual listener in, Tom\'s music offers insight to the deeper things of Christianity that many of us are all too willing to overlook. His songs are reminiscent of Rich Mullins\' style -- not so much musically, but in the intricacies of well-strung words and the challenge to deepen your roots and widen your horizons when dealing with God.
