
Barry Davis Sr / The Professor Project
Barry has been in music for 45+ years. He has been the conductor for the Big El Shows and played with The Platters, Oak Ridge Boys, Jerry Lee Lewis and many other National and Nashville Touring Acts. He has played the Baltimore, MD country circuit for many years and played keys for just about everyone in Baltimore. Barry has a versatile style of music, consisting of all genres.
Barry has played many of the Christian Rock Festivals on the east coast from CREATION FEST in Mt. Union, PA to JESUS FEST in Orlando, FL. He has shared the stage with such greats as David and the Giants, Broken Heart, Joe English (of Paul McCartney and Wings) and Paul Stookey (of Peter, Paul & Mary fame) to mention just a few.
Barry is still an active song writer (BMI) and collaborator. He has many song writing credits and recordings to his name. Barry has been and still is a Recording Engineer and Producer. He has produced Blues, Jazz, Country, Folk, Gospel, Contemorary Christain and Classic Rock projects over the years.
Barry was a former Journalist (one of his majors), Radio & TV Announcer - Personality and Broadcaster. He has edited, packaged and syndicated religious programming for many of the nation\'s top evangelists. He has worked in Radio at WUST in Washington, DC and WOSM in Ocean Springs, MS and WHKY-TV in Hickory, NC in the early 70\'s. He has played the B3 Hammond for most of the national old fashion tent meeting evangelists across the country.
Barry is Listed in \"Who\'s Who In The World\" as of the year 2000 Edition. Listed in \"2000 Outstanding Scholars In The 21st Century\" for the year 2001 in Cambridge England. Nominated \"Man Of The Year\" in Cambridge England. He has attended various Universities, Colleges and schools to expand his horizons. He lectures and teaches as he has the time to various groups and organizations.
The Professor is now heading in a new direction with his music. He has gone back to his roots and the rich love of Gospel and Blues. He is currently working in the studio on material for his new CD.
Barry performs at local Jam sessions with his friends such as Victor Mosca, The Ursula Ricks Project, Da T-Bone Mojo, Renowned Guitarist Johnny Flame, The SUPER Bassist - Donna Simone Plamondon and Walter Williams (World Famous Piedmont Guitarist on the Smithsonian Label). He is presently doing session work with other groups to expand his musical experience. He is associated with the Baltimore Blues Society
Barry is a B3 HAMMOND ORGANIST from the old days and has a groove all his own! Barry has played with Billy Preston and David Davis back in the 70\'s. Both are world renowned Organists in the Gospel field. We miss you Billy, God\'s speed to you. Also we miss our ole\' friends who have moved on to perform on the Stage of Glory: Merle Saunders, Doug Riley (from Canada), David Davis, Oscar Petterson, Jimmy McGriff and Jimmy Smith!
