About Larry French
Larry has covered a lot of ground in his 50-plus years. Originally a resident of Saginaw, Michigan, he attended and graduated from the University of Michigan. It was there, during his freshman year, that he committed his life to Jesus Christ. Larry's immediately involvement in church and Campus Crusade for Christ were keys to his early growth and development to where he is today.
He met his wife, Susanne, and after a three-year courtship, married her. They have one son, Benjamin. In 1986, the Lord called the family to pack up by faith and head to Colorado, where they reside today. Larry had worked in many realms of education from assisting the mentally and physically disabled, to a math/science teacher, to working for a number of years in the home schooling system. Since then, Larry and his wife have run their own housecleaning business and continue to serve the Lord. They all currently attend Church of the Rock in Castle Rock, Colorado. Larry's heart is to help Christians who have gone through trials and struggles as he and his wife have and help them know God's comfort and healing through prayer and counsel.
As a musician, Larry's experience started early, when he began singing in the primary choir in church when he was five years old. He has studied violin and piano and began writing poetry, music, and lyrics at an early age. After his conversion to Christ, the Lord turned his direction to writing Christian music exclusively, and he has written almost 300 songs in the years since. He has also been involved over the years on worship teams in several churches, served on ministry teams, been active in support groups as participant and leader with his wife, and is involved with helping other Christian songwriters develop their talents. It wouldn't be possible to be where he is at without his wife's help and support, and the grace that God gives. As he often says, "I need all the help I can get!"
Here is a short list of some of the things Larry has done over the years:
• Member of various worship teams in the following churches: Cornerstone Church in Erie, CO;
Boulder Vineyard in Boulder, CO; and Tri-Lakes Vineyard in Monument, CO.
• Co-worship leader at Tri-Lakes Vineyard for three years
• Cell group worship leader in Boulder Vineyard and Tri-Lakes Vineyard
• Co-leader with wife Susanne for a Sunrise Ministries cell group in Lafayette, CO, which was
Christian organization for supporting recovering alcoholics/ co-dependents and adult children
of alccoholics
• Member and chaplain of Colorado Christian Songwriters in Denver, CO, which is a group organized to
develop songwriting and performance skills for area Christian songwriters
• Ministry team leader at Tri-Lakes Vineyard; also taught ministry team training class there
• Ministered original special music at several different churches in Michigan and Colorado
• Performed original music at several weddings, funerals, prisons, and other similar events
• Facilitator for Celebrate Recovery at Church of the Rock
