Kim Black a.k.a. K.I.M.
\"ADONAI\" is Hebrew for \"the Lord.\"
\"Kingdom Inspired Ministry\" aka \"K.I.M.\" is a name that the Holy Spirit gave me through a dear friend. I love it!
I\'m married to Michael who\'s wonderful, and have two daughters, Kristine and Kamille, who are gifts from God. I serve as a Worship Leader, Deacon of the Outreach Ministry, and member of the Feast Committee at The Triumphant Church, Springfield, VA, where I worship the Lord. I am a songwriter, producer, singer, and recording artist by the power of the Holy Ghost in me.
I didn\'t seek to be a Christian, a worship leader, a deacon, a recording artist, God chose me to be them in Christ before the foundation of the world.
I always loved singing. I started when I was in diapers. I grew up with jazz. My father was a jazz pianist, and my mother loved to sing with him. Before being saved, I gigged with bands singing funk and R&B, and starred in a couple of off-Broadway music. These genres are very heavy in my music.
In fact, I have a different sound from most black Christian artists. I've been told that on several occasions. And, I like it like that! It's what comes out of me through the Spirit. Jesus is like no one else.
Donnie McLaurin, Steve Ebhodaghe, Joshua Patini, Solomon Ekwukoma, Kwame North, Angela Bryant-Brown, Lisa Glover, and other artists have contributed to my projects.
In a recent interview I was asked: \"What brought me to this point in my life?\" I rephrased the question to: \"Who brought me to this point in my life?\" My answer: Adonai\'s grace and mercy in His son Jesus the Christ. The same is true for everyone. When I look back on my life, the answer is and will always be Adonai.
I\'m devoted, a slave to the ministry of reconcilation the Lord has given me in Christ Jesus, having been one of the greatest sinners saved by His grace and mercy. People have said that, in my music, they can can hear the Father's cry to the lost to be reconciled to Him through His Son Yehoshua the Messiah. It\'s the cry of the Holy Spirit.
I always tell people that each song was prepared for me before the foundation of the earth. It\'s taken all the experiences from my birth out of my mother\'s womb to being born-again, straight through to the last track that is recorded, mixed, and mastered.
The Lord has blessed me with several opportunities concerning the music ministry. I sang at the 21st Biennial Gospel Industry Retreat, the brainchild of Dr. Bobby Jones and recording artist Vicki Winans. I\'ve been featured at GraceandMercyMagazine.org. The Lord also has been providing radio broadcast of the music on Outlaw4Christ.com, Spiritco1.com, KIHL 103.7 FM in Hawaii, KBCU 88.1FM Bethel College Radio, Newton, KS, and Gospel Impact Radio, CJBRadio.com, and other venues.
About a year ago, I felt led by the Holy Spirit to change my Web site name from \"kimblack.com\" to \"ExaltAdonai.com.\" I changed it, but there were moments when I wanted to change it back. I didn\'t like my name not being in the domain name. But, I felt the Spirit say \"Exalt the Lord, and He will exalt you.\" Obedience is better than sacrifice. That\'s why He, also, gave me the song \"I Will Obey.\" To love Christ, is to obey Him.
Then, in May of 2009, the Spirit led me to write the song \"ADONAI.\" Now, I see why I was suppose to change my Web site name. I needed to do that for the Spirit to give me the song.
I\'ve also been asked \"Where do you go from here, what are your future plans and vision for your ministry?\" My answer: Adonai called me out of darkness into His kingdom of light. I can\'t go anywhere better than that! Having tasted Him and knowing that He is good, I want others to be saved, too, just like He does. The vision is to complete the ministry of reconciliation God has given me.\"
The Spirit has taken my writing gift beyond music. I also write a blog called exaltAdonai. Currently my articles are featured in the E-Discipleship column at GraceandMercyMagazine.org. He\'s also given me a vision for a movie.
Be blessed in exalting THE LORD. He is worthy to be praised!

I don't like this question. Depending on the song, some people say I sound like Chaka Khan, Martha Munizzi, Denise Williams, Patty LaBelle, Anita Baker. Since we're all made in His image (male and female), we have lots in common like vocals.
