Eric Copeland
Eric Copeland has been playing piano, writing songs, and making recordings of his music since he was 13. In his college years, he became interested in jazz, heavily influenced by the vocal jazz and pop of Al Jarreau, the keyboard and synthesizer work of Jeff Lorber, and other artists like Gino Vanelli, Manhattan Transfer, and Bruce Hornsby. By his twenties Eric was also adding modern jazz groups like the Yellowjackets, Steps Ahead, Pat Metheny, and Flim and the BBs. Vocal jazz music also figured in heavily with Michael Franks and Take 6.
His interest in Christian music, as well as his keyboard programming and production skills, brought a natural role as producer, and Eric has now served in this role on hundreds of albums, EPs, and singles for artists across the US and the world.
But his love of jazz, and especially writing and arranging his own unique vision of jazz has brought him full circle with his current release, \"The Jazz in Me\".
Producer
Eric is a busy producer of Christian and Jazz music through his Nashville-based production company Creative Soul. Their main goal is high quality projects that take artists and ministries to a new level of success.
\"I think quality and creativity are the two things I bring to the recording process. I\'m not interested in trying to copy what\'s popular, or current. But to create art that stands up. We\'re challenging our artists to write better, develop their craft, and strive for a new quality level in both their materials and themselves. Many Creative Soul artists are getting national radio exposure, national and international distribution, and amazing publicity and reviews.

Songwriter
Songwriting is what started all you read now. Eric started writing songs as a youth, with his first serious songs coming about age 13. After high school Eric started writing for bands, and eventually other artists.
His songs are now on thousands of artist\'s CDs across the US and the world, as well as have been used in numerous small films, television, and computer products.
Eric regularly writes with and for clients, as well as for his own music projects including his NEW CD, The Jazz in Me (take a listen).
\"For me, it was just never that interesting to play other people\'s music. Probably one reason I could never get interested in taking formal piano lessons is that it meant playing someone else\'s tunes. And I felt I had songs I would rather investigate and get out.\"
