DC Riggs
\"Seeking the Heart of God.\" ...After spending an evening with dc riggs it becomes obvious what he is talking about when he says he is just \"seeking God\'s heart\". \"I have spent a great deal of time running from God. My goal now is to get as close to Him as I can and bring a bunch of people with me.\" dc knew back in the early 90\'s that God had called him to music ministry. \"In 1993 I began doing some solo shows but I wasn\'t sure where God was directing me. In October of 1994 I received a call from a group in Asheville, NC to see if I would be interested in singing with them after the referal of the tenor who had just left the group. After several meetings we decided it was a good fit and I started singing with the group \'Lifter\' that winter.\"
During this time a tragic event happened in dc\'s life that would alter his course and his commitment to this calling for quite some time. His brother, Johnny, who was also in the music industry passed away. \"Johnny\'s death was extremely difficult for me. He was an awesome person and one of the most talented people I have ever known. Rather than deal with the pain and try to understand what led him to take his own life, I decided to blame the music industry and I turned my back on my calling to music.\"
dc spent the next 10 years running from the calling that God had placed on his life. \"I never turned my back on God or blamed Him for what happened. It was just easier to deal with without the music.\"
But the running is over for him now. dc riggs has a new sound and a renewed focus and commitment to fulfill his promise to serve God through his music. \"Everytime I have the opportunity to sing, my desire is to get as close to God as I can get and to take my audience there with me. We can all just climb up in His lap and enjoy worshiping our Lord. I want the listener to know that we are in this together.\"
