Chris Blanton

Chris Blanton is a songwriter, worship leader, author, and instructor of music. Since 1999, he and his wife Laura have been offering educational experiences in piano, voice, guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, mandolin, and church audio.
After graduating from Shorter College in 1998, Chris enjoyed five years as worship pastor of The Church at Northside (Rome, GA), where he led a \'contemporary\' band of musicians, hosted a Friday night coffeehouse venue, and produced two albums of TCAN\'s songwriters.
Since 2004, he and his family have made Athens, Georgia their home, where they started the Blanton School of Music and teach over 75 students a week. Please visit www.blantonschool.com for more info.
Athens has been very welcoming to the Blantons. Since moving to the Classic City, Chris has been invited to play with several bands as stand-in guitarist or keyboardist, and can regularly be found playing an instrument on Sundays at the Athens Vineyard Church (www.athensvineyard.com). He was honored to perform as Guest Baritone Soloist with the Athens Symphony (www.athenssymphony.org) for their 2006 Pops Concerts, and now fulfills the role of Santa Claus singing \"White Christmas\" at their annual Christmas Concerts in December.
In the fall of 2008, Chris published his first book \"Today I Choose: An 18-Day Prayer Guide for Believers\" with Eloquent Books out of New York. The book is based on Chris\' song of the same title, and can be previewed for FREE by visiting the www.blantonschool.com website!
