Angel Isaacs
Angel Isaacs is considered by many to have been one of the first national independent CCM artists. She was mentored by Dwight Liles who has had 400 songs recorded, 40 top ten singles, 19 number one records, 2 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards, and 7 Dove nominations. Dwight produced her first 2 albums. She is a 3rd generation graduate of Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas (1984). She has a BA in Mass Communication Radio/TV. She was the 3rd woman to ever receive a Master of Arts in Religion from David Lipscomb University in Nashville (1997). She was also the 3rd woman to ever receive a Master of Divinity from Lipscomb (2006).
In addition she has 15 graduate hours in Non-Profit Administration from UCF as well as 15 graduate hours in Creative Writing from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, PA and was trained by Dr. Michael Lennon, the personal biographer of the late Norman Mailer, a multple Pulitzer Prize author and VP of Wilkes Univ. and Dr. Bonnie Culver, a playwright whose plays are performed from NYC to LA, and who is the founder of the Wilkes Univ. Creative Writing Dept. Angel has a network that includes the top film scriptwriters (one just produced a film with Richard Gere and also with Jack Nicholson, another with the government of Mexico, another with Star Trek, among others), producers, many national authors signed to Random House etc., in multiple genres through ACU, Lipscomb, UCF and Wilkes.
Angel created \"Chapelgate,\" in the early days of ccm, a 39.5 acre private hideaway for Christian artists & the paradise/waterfalls location of Amy Grant\'s \"Lead Me On,\" video (The Number 1 Christian song, album, video of all time). Angel\'s late husband, W.R. \"Robin\" Isaacs, was the first person in history to use a computer to monitor the drilling of an oilwell. He created the technology and software for the Drilling Data Center, in the 1970\'s - 1990\'s which is credited by the Society of Petroleum Engineers as saving Mobil $24 - $100 million dollars annually in drilling costs and was the first system of its kind. Robin\'s system became the bedrock for Exxon-Mobil\'s and the oil industry in general\'s technology for computer enhanced monitoring of oil wells. Angel was the Documentation Specialist at Dresser Industries in Houston and also the President and founder of Isaacs Consulting & Development, Inc. As such she personally documented over 7000 pages of computer software source code for the Data Center her husband created and authored.
Angel\'s father, Reese Davis, was the Project Manager at Teledyne, (part of the Redstone Arsenal, Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, NASA in Cape Canaveral, and a subcontractor for McDonnell Douglas, Douglas Missile & Space Systems Divisions) for all the telemetry in the Apollo/Saturn missions to the moon which occurred under the late President John F. Kennedy\'s initiative in the 1960\'s & 1970\'s. He was responsible for the electronic telemetry technology that allowed us to send the first men to the moon and to bring them home safely. He was awarded two medals for his work in 17 Apollo/Saturn missions. One medal is made from the metal contained in the first space capsule to circle the moon, in the history of mankind, the second medal is made of moon rock, obtained from man\'s first footsteps on the moon. Angel\'s fingerprints, and those of her family are on equipment that was left on the moon during the first days of moon exploration. She writes about this in her memoir, \"Chapelgate, a Spiritual Memoir.\"
Angel refers to all of these life experiences as \"following God through the Daytime of Prosperity.\" But her story is deeper than this. Her husband, Robin, unexpectedly died on Christmas Eve, 1990. Her entire family was on their way to spend Christmas with Robin, Angel & their young children at Chapelgate but were slowed by a storm. They weren\'t expected until the next day, yet somehow, miraculously Angel thinks, God timed their arrival at Chapelgate to occur during the 15 minute time slot of the 911 ambulance\'s arrival at Chapelgate and the ambulance\'s leaving. They arrived after a 1000 mile trip through a terrible snowstorm, in the few moments after Robin was placed in the ambulance, deceased.
Angel says that that was a sign from God to show he would be with her through what came next - the Nighttime of Suffering and Loss she would endure for the following decade. Trying to love and follow Jesus\' commandments to us to love God, love Neighbor, and even love our Enemy, Angel walked with God through events that cost her everything she held dear, and every penny and possession she had. She spent 5 years in Federal Court fighting some of the biggest Goliath\'s, the huge oil companies that used Robin\'s technology, in existence. She watched as the legal system was used to take every precious possession she had, including her beloved home, \"Chapelgate.\" She went through a $690 million dollar lawsuit over Robin\'s technology and was destroyed in every possible way. Yet, she continued to try to do what Jesus had said and \"Love God, Love Neighbor, Love Enemy.\"
At the moment that Robin\'s lifework was taken from her and her children she thought, \"What does God want me to do? What is Jesus\' example to us? and she sweetly walked over to her enemies and forgave them. She had already knelt in the bathroom stall at the courthouse before the trial and given every penny to God. She says that when she did this and then walked to her car, the trial over and lost, her enemies forgiven, that when she got into her car and turned on the ignition that the radio (always set on the Contemporary Christian Music channel) music filled the air around her with \"Well done, my good and faithful servant, well done. Come enter in to all the riches of the Kingdom of Heaven.\" Angel thinks that was another miraculous sign.
The result from that experience was that Angel pursued a Master of Divinity and on obtaining it then spent the next decade, 15,000 hours researching the original ancient languages of the Bible, biblical Hebrew and Greek. She believes that the scriptures hold a sealed concept that is based on following what Jesus told us to do - Love God, Love Neighbor, Love Enemy. She believes that when you actually do what Jesus said and love, that it shifts your perception and allows you to understand this seal. She believes this to be the Kingdom of Heaven that Jesus was referring to and that it is entered by love in this degree.
