Al does several concerts each year that are civic events, county fairs, state fairs, public settings. Very few poeple will sit and listen to a street preacher today. However, many folks who would not give the Gospel one moment of their time will hear Al sing a familiar tune but will hear the words have been changed. They will hear people laughing. They with hear humor. They will see some goofy Elvis impersonation, or a silly Johnny Cash parody. And that person who would not darken the door of a church will sit there and listen to a song or two or even the whole concert. The goal is to get them to stop just a moment. To pause and listen. Then, may the Lord can take it from there....His Word will not return to Him void.
ENTERTAINMENT - that folks might LOOK
FAMILIAR TUNES - that folks might LISTEN
IMPERSONATIONS - that folks might LINGER
HUMOR & PROPS - that folks might LAUGH
POWERFUL LYRICS - that folks might LOVE JESUS CHRIST, and make HIM LORD of their LIFE
*YES, YOU WILL LAUGH, YES YOU WILL BE ENTERTAINED, BUT LAUGHTER & ENTERTAINMENT ARE MERE TOOLS TO OPEN DOORS OF COMMUNICATION TO CHALLENGE WITH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST.

OVERHEARD CAMM (Comments About Mahan Ministries)
\"Al Mahan\'s music was the perfect \"fit\" for our ministry & I would recommend him to any church or Christian organization.\"
Terry Agal - Conference Manager - Maranatha Bible & Missionary Conference - Muskegon, MI
Al has opened for the Christian parody band ApologetiX a number of times this year.
Here\'s a comment from their lead guitarist Karl Messner:
\"Al, you were a hit. NEVER have we had a person open for us that each of us was SO impressed with! Keith went on and on. And Hubie even suggested we try to find another time to do it again. It\'ll be much easier next time, of course, now that we ironed out the details.
I\'m VERY impressed with your Johnny Cash immitation! Hurt CRUSHES. And your Christian Parodies are very good\"
\"Just wanted to drop you a quick note and let you know something...Karl first heard your voice (I believe) a few months ago. He called me into his studio and said \"You HAVE to hear this guy\", and he
played your version of \"Hurt\" (I am a big fan of the Johnny Cash version). You have an awesome voice, and I really enjoyed it! And since then, just about everyone that comes to our place gets the \"You have to hear this!\" from Karl and he plays your version of \"Hurt\" for them.\"
Deb Messner, Karl Messner\'s wife
Al, honestly, you did the best Johnny Cash impression I\'ve ever heard\"
Matthew Dunaway, President-Praisefest Ministries, Clanton, AL
\"The kids really get into that Frog Song, now I won\'t be able to keep my cupboards stocked with macaroni! New Jersey

\"I have known Al Mahan for a little over 14 years now. He is a remarkably gifted singer. Al has intertwined humor with his Elvis numbers, but is always consistant and true to the Word of God. he doesn\'t take liberty with God\'s truth for entertainment purposes.

Denise, Al\'s wonderful wife of 28 years, is an RN, ministering in home health nursing,
Bible studies, and Children\'s ministries
Denise & Al have been blessed with three great kids.
Rachel - their firstborn is the Consumer Science teacher at a middle Tennessee high school.
Jon and Christina are both at Tennessee Tech. They stick together on campus ministry,
summer mission projects, and mission trips.
Jon just finished his senior year as the punter for the Golden Eagles. His 84 yard punt was
shown hourly on ESPN. Jon was 3rd in the nation (44.5 yard avg.) last year. Pray for Jon
as he spends first half of 2007 in Gaudalajara, Mexico, learning Spanish, and winning at
least half of that city of six million to faith in Christ.
Christina, their youngest is in her third year at Tech, studying to be an RN. Christina at
times will sing a song during the concert....that is, if she hasn\'t run off on a mission trip!
Bless her!
\"Denise & I are so grateful to God that all our children seek to honor Christ as preemminent
in their lives and to be witnesses for Him. We can\'t express enough what an awesome blessing
this is. Praise be to Christ!\"
