Singer/songwriter Holly Starr is sure to catch your ear as she creates a refreshing new sound that can be categorized as worshipful pop/rock.
Jesus Christ has given Holly the passion and gift of love for music-- for writing and sharing it with the world. Her desire is that she can demonstrate through music the relevance of Jesus Christ in not only her life, but others as well, and how that shapes every situation she enters. Her passion for music was ignited at the age of 12, where writing and sharing original songs began at age 14.
At the age of 15, her first EP was released, and since then has continued to write for the seeking ears of her generation. With a deep desire to continue planting seeds of understanding our purpose in life--to glorify Christ--Holly continues to write songs in relation to how God is working in her life and the lives of those around her.
As of August 2008 her album 'Embraced' has been completed and is now available. The album speaks for itself, but is respected for its sense of passion and deep lyrical content. 'Majestic' has been played on Seattle's Spirit105.3, and also made it into the GMA 'Music in the Rockies' 2008 Semi-Finals (top 20 out of over 1,000). "I Love You Anyway" and "Unaware" are widely respected for their passionate stories and plain truth.
Recently Holly was blessed with the opportunity to open for artist LeAnn Rimes, and to spend time touring through Washington this spring with Rush of Fools. She was also recently nominated for the Momentum Awards Female Artist of the Year, held at the CIA Summit in Nashville. This year, at the GMA conference in Nashville Holly was also selected to receive the Compassion International Award for Artist 2009. A music video done by 1834 Productions on her original compostion of "I Love You Anyway" has been released to the public and on Oct 17, 2009 it will be released as part of the "Deep" Curriculum.
